Sunday Photo Fun...

In an attempt at some normalcy in our lives {with all of the work drama and all}, Mike decided to take Saturday off! Imagine that! {wink} It was a productive day... we got our taxes done, had a delicious lunch at Gulfsteam in Corona Del Mar, and ran some errands. We had plans for Sunday morning to take family photos with my Uncle Sae and Aunt Karen. When Mike's phone rang at 9:15pm on Saturday night with news that there would be a work meeting the following morning, my heart sank. So much for normalcy these days... {SIGH} When Mike spoke to my Uncle Sae to tell him that he would be unavailable, he said, "That's OK, we'll just make it a Leyla photo shoot"... which made me smile because it really is ALL about her anyway, right? That night it hailed in Irvine... Brrrr... Needless to say, the next morning was COLD! Luckily, by the time we reached our first location, Noguchi's Sculpture Garden... it was absolutely beautiful and clear. No wind, no clouds... A PERFECT day for photos. By the way... this little oasis sandwiched by office buildings is amazing! It's a little hideaway that I never even knew existed.

Leyla was such a trooper {as always} and made it through 3 hours of photos... she loved running around Fashion Island {our second location}. What I loved was her curiosity for the camera. Whenever my Uncle would pause to regroup and scan the photos on his camera, Leyla would come over to check out what he was doing. She would slowly saunter over, with her hands behind her back... like a person well beyond her years.

Here are a few photos that I snapped at Fashion Island... Uncle Sae's photos will follow on a future post... Enjoy!

Learning the ropes from the best...
What a great way to spend a Sunday... capturing Leyla's happy moments... My heartfelt thanks go out to my Aunt and Uncle. They have so much patience and energy to chase rambunctious Leyla around... in fact, Uncle Sae could have probably gone on for 3 more hours... and would have most definitely outlasted Leyla. Our little "model" fell asleep in her car seat faster than you can say, "cheese".

Oh... and here's my quote for the day... just because I love a good quote:

“May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.”

Happy Monday!
